About the Festival
Known as America’s most prestigious gourmet gathering all proceeds from the Festival benefit the students of the Florida International University Chaplin School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, who also assist Festival organizers with a variety of components.  Now going into its 13th year, the Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival presented by FOOD & WINE began as a one-day festival known as the “Florida Extravaganza” held at FIU's Biscayne Bay Campus and attracted 600 people.  Today, the Festival hosts over 60,000 guests throughout the 4-day event and has raised more than $18 million for the school to date.  You can become a fan of the Festival at www.facebook.com/SOBEWFF!

FIU’s Involvement – From staff to students, the South Beach Wine & Food Festival® is undeniably a Golden Panther event.   Since the very beginning, hundreds of students have gained valuable experience each year participating on various aspects of the Festival.  This includes sponsorship fulfillment, restaurant and exhibitor recruitment, logistics, and inventory as well as working alongside some of the world’s greatest celebrity chefs, culinary personalities and winemakers.  In addition to the unrivaled experience, students also receive a stipend in exchange for their participation in the Festival.

Student Involvement
– Without the able hands of over 1,000 FIU students each year, the South Beach Wine and Food Festival simply wouldn’t exist. Each year, students savor the one-of-a-kind experience of working side-by-side with world renowned chefs and culinary celebrities to produce each of the Festival’s events.
